On Sunday 22nd June 2014 Little Laura's Woodland Walk took place on Cannock Chase in order to raise funds for Little Laura. The walk will began at 2:00pm at Birches Valley. We believe over 200 people attended and it was wonderful to see so many people dressed in pink and fairy wings. We were able to donate £1,500 to each of the charities close to Lauras' heart Marshlands Special School, RDA Ingestre and Midlands Air Ambulance from funds raised from the Sky Dive and the selling of handmade jewellery. Funds are still being collected in from the days events. The total raised was £4,138 Many thanks for everyone who attended, your support means a great deal.
On Sunday June 15th 2014 two of Laura’s close friends, Gemma Hall and Suzi Pugh, and her aunt Sarah Noble will be doing a sponsored skydive in Banbury. They are funding this themselves and 100% of donations will be going to the charities.
We have had an amazing morning, The girls did amazing, See photos below and video clips. An amazing £4,000.00 plus has been pledged to the girls as sponsor money.
Thank you to Michelle for arranging our visit to the Midlands Air Ambulance. We truly appreciate everything they did to try save our daughter Laura Thomas, the quick response, and their care and compassion. Thank you for the opportunity of meeting you all.
The picture below shows the doctor and paramedic who attended the crash site and tried to save Laura's life.
On Laura's 21st birthday we were invited to Hagley Park Academy (Laura's High School) to plant a cherry blossom tree in memory of Laura. The whole family were invited and we released pink balloons into the sky for Laura. It was an emotional and memorable moment and one we will never forget and we would like to thank Mr Astley (Head Teacher) for arranging this.
Many members of the family then went to Cannock Ink to get tattoos in memory of Laura. This was the first time any of us had had a tattoo, 7 of us had one which included Laura's Granddad (see Tinkerbell Tattoo)
